I am excited to present to you my almost spring collection called, "Lucille."

Lucille is a delighter in the subtleties of life. She finds comfort in the softness and smoothness of flannel, knitwear, and silk. I will release the individual pieces throughout the month. The first three will be available for purchase tomorrow.

I've been wanting to do some tiny collections of vintage for some time now. It has been a blast collecting these items, styling them, and presenting them as a collection.

A few new items will be put in the shop each week. Though my shop is in hobby status right now it is a wonderful time and I am thoroughly enjoying it!

Dominik and I spend a day chasing vintage in Mannheim, Germany. It is close to Heidelberg but I never seem to get my self up there. While we were visiting vintage shops and collecting second hand, Dominik shot some photos of my outfit.

Shop Window: Live at SheMonster

Last weekend Dominik and I had a the lovely opportunity to go on a vintage hunt in Mannheim, Germany. We found a fun vintage shop called SheMonster online and went to visit. It was far beyond our expectations for cool. It was pretty wicked.

If you are in Mannheim, any time soon you most definitely should visit SheMonster. They have a wonderfully curated collection and from what I was told they have new items frequently!

Why I started doing outfit posts.

I struggle with making myself and my well-being a priority. I often put my work, others, my home, and my worries, above taking care of myself. I am realizing that when I put some extra time into taking care of myself and looking good, I feel a lot better.

I have been thinking about doing outfit posts, to encourage you and me to dress it up a bit more. I hope to show some fun casual "Every Day" style, and some "Work" style, and some of my vintage shop items styled.

You may be at a totally different place than I am when it comes to spending time on your appearance.

You may need to shave off minutes you spend in front of the mirror. If you are spending too much time in front of a mirror and that should change, I would like to encourage you to do that.

However for me, when I begin to get natural dreads in my hair and wear the same jeans every day, I know it is a time to make a change and do a little act signifying making my well-being a priority.

p.s. Some of my most favorite bloggers such as Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky, Amanda from Here's to Looking at Me Kid, occasionally do outfit posts which is fun. Make sure to check those styling ladies out!

1. It was so fun to spend some time Art Journaling. I am taking this online course from RedVelvet!

2. I discovered a vintage shop called SheMonster in Mannheim Germany. It was so fun to see a live vintage shop thrive in the area!

3.These futuristic homes from the 60s are pretty wicked!

4. I delight in these polar bear prints by the lovely Tinee Haecke.

5. I love this photograph and these dresses.

6. Toast and Jam vintage fair in Berlin, looked like a blast. Photos by Sophia from Personal Uniform.

7. Hearing my beautiful husband practice his instruments has been a delight this past week.

8. I like this lady's ensemble!

9. My Love has been learning a lot about calligraphy and practicing. He is an amazing man.

10. I was working on my first collection of vintage, it will be presented come February. It is a collection of ten vintage items that tell a story about a certain lady. Working on my shop and this collection, was definately the highlight of my week.

Shop Window: Live at The Get Up

While in Ann Arbor, MI, USA. I had the pleasure of visiting The Get Up a wonderful vintage shop in the downtown. They have an amazing collection. Many splendid items indeed.

The owner Kelly, who is charming and enthusiastic about life, and I talked shop for sometime. She gave me many tips about opening a local vintage shop. She was incredibly informative and inspirational. She has a real love for her job and life.

The shop was filled with delightful vintage and had some steller displays.

If you are ever in Ann Arbor, you most definately should visit this wonderful shop!

Total Money Makeover

This Holiday season I have had the opportunity to read Dave Ramsey’s book “Total Money Makeover” and have been very moved to make a huge dent on my student loan Debt this coming year. Mandi and I chatted about this when we met in Canton, OH a few weeks ago.

It is pretty amazing how okay we americans are with debt. We have come to find it the means to get what we want before we have the money to get it.

My debt has been hanging over my head these past two years and I am ready to make some serious progress getting rid of it! You all will be the witnesses! I hope to be debt free or almost debt free in two years!

I am very impressed by Ramsey’s first few Baby Steps...

My husband who is German read them and said they are common sense. It is true, for Germans. I haven’t met a german person who is in debt, since I moved to Germany. They don’t even consider it, they save up for what they want to buy, and when they have it, they can pay for it. I was shocked by this book but if you are German, or one who doesn’t use loans and credit cards, you won’t have to read this.

If you are sick of your debt too. Anna writes a great blog which encourages people trying to get rid of their debt!

And LA wrote a nice post about getting rid of her debt!

Do any of you have any good resources or support resources when it comes to budgeting and paying off debt?

Snowy Times-Outfit

Rarely, do I share Outfit blog posts, however at an attempt to share some of my personal style and challenge my self a bit, I am giving it a go.

Plus, I recently inherited this beautiful cape that belonged to my Grandma and I am loving it, and remembering the stylish lady she was.

It has been splendid to experience some snow finally.

p.s. I highly recommend "the pants tucked in the socks," it is great in winter! And it takes great courage to walk out the door in such a fashion.

I have loved being in my grandparent’s home. My grandmother recently passed away so it makes being here very different but very special. I have been enjoying the old photographs that are all around the house. I have loved being close to my family history, but most of all being with my family members. It has been such a gift to be able to be close to them these past three weeks!

1. Meeting my nephew for the first time and getting some wonderful quality time with him.

2. Decorating Christmas cookies with my cuzgies!!!

3. Watching old family videos and enjoying our shared history.

4. Enjoying time with my Grampa.

5. Making a christmas video greeting for my family with my brother!

6. Staying in my grandparent's home. I have loved being surrounded by photographs and people that are related to me.

7. I have surprisingly been delighting in figuring out our finances and making plans to pay of a ton of my loans in the next few years.

8. I have been stretched by new experiences.

9. I have also had the pleasure of meeting a new cousin to the family. This little man is my first cousin once removed I believe. (the son of my cousin.)

10. To polish off our holiday season in the USA, we are spending a few days in Ann Arbor. with some family.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. We have one more day and then we head back home to Germany.

I am excited to be back in regular life and blogging and working on my shop! Hurray.

One Night in Amsterdam.

On our trip to the U.S. We had a 12 hour lay over in Amsterdam. It was from 8pm to 8am. Yikes. It was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than a direct flight from Frankfurt to Detroit.

We had been wanting to see Amsterdam for sometime anyway, so we decided for it. This little night trip just wet our lips to the beautiful city.

We walked through the city for 3 hours, stopped to eat Indian food, and carried on walking through the streets. To our surprise everything closed by 3am. We then headed back to the airport and slept for a few hours, almost missing our plane to detriot.

This was our first stint of our trip... It was a fun beginning to our adventure.

We are now enjoying family time and my grandpa's house in Ohio. Visiting with family and eating delicious food. My posts from now on will be infrequent for a few weeks because my Grandpa doesn't have internet. I am delighted to be with family, but will surely miss blogging. Have a lovely holiday season...

Finally had thanksgiving!

We were one week late celebrating Thanksgiving last year, this year we were two weeks late. If we keep this up it will one week before Christmas next year yikes...

Thankfully, I live in Germany and only had german guests over for Thanksgiving so they didn't mind that it wasn't the proper day. We had a delightful time and we all shared things we are thankful for around the table as the tiny turkey was steaming (tiny German turkeys are the only kind that fit in tiny German ovens!)

We had a wonderful evening with family and good friends. It was a big mix and a lot of guests for our mini flat but it was absolutely steller!

Shop Window: Sitara Afghan

Let's take a peek into this amazing shop.

My mother in Law just opened a Non-Profit Shop selling hand embroidered tablecloths, and aprons. They are really beautiful. The shop's name is Sitara-Afghan. Her name is Esther and she lived in Afghanistan for many years. She is currently living in Germany, but still has contact with many lady friends back in Afghanistan with little income.

Esther (my mother in law) decided that their amazing hand craft should be open to us to buy, and to give them income. She has opened just in time for Christmas so if any of you are looking for a unique gift for a culture loving family member or friend I can definitely recommend this as a choice. As I said 100% of it goes to the ladies who made the goods in Afghanistan.

Guilty pleasures

1. Reading children's books. Since teaching 1st graders, I have fallen in love with them again. I love D.E.A.R (Drop. Everything. And Read) time more than my students.

2. I set my alarm clock 30 minutes early every morning just so that I can snooze 3 times. (my husband still loves me despite of it)

3. Project Runway.

4. Embarrassing movies: "You've Got Mail" (come on, her tiny bookstore has to close because of a huge chain store! Riveting.), The Notebook (I like to think it is only because of the fun vintage styling.) Don't judge!

5. Collecting collage materials but rarely ever making collages.

6. Frozen pizzas... I could eat them 3 times a week, I limit my intake to one a week and it is hard. Especially this Jalapeno Salami one that we can buy at our corner store.

7. Reading Blogs.... I guess it only makes sense since I write one. However, it can get kind of silly how much time I spend reading blogs. I follow 51 blogs. Luckily not all of them post everyday! haha.

8. I would drink a hot tottie at all hours of the day if it didn't make me silly...

9. I look at real-estate websites all the time seeing whether there are shops open in the area. Even though, I cannot open a shop right now, because I am working full time at a school.

10. Eating out! I spend 100 Euros a month on lunches when I could just pack a sandwich... yikes. Laziness takes over when it comes to packing a lunch...

Have a great weekend! I will surely be indulging in a few of these over the weekend!

As I have said before, I have been doing some business planning.

I have so many day dreams about owning a shop and supporting myself and my family with my creative business.

I keep on having to remind myself that it takes time to prepare, save, grow and learn, and it can't all be at once. I can't get there tomorrow.

But I am making progress though it seems miniscule, these little steps have to be taken.

I have been especially grateful for my husband these past few days.

I have been like a mole hiding in the dark with a migraine. He has loved me so, with his actions this week. Making me tea, dinner, and reading in the dark with a flashlight.

My husband is also incredibly supportive of my creative business and of the plans for growth. He is incredibly wise and helps a lot when I don't know what to do next.

So, thank you Dominik! I love you dearly and am so grateful to be your wife!

Artist Feature: Inhae Renee Lee (my milk toof)

ickle (left) is a smart and curious toof who loves to read books. Other interests include cutting coupons, nibbling on furniture, and David Bowie.

Olive Delights is a weekly post here at Olive Green Anna where I share some of my most inspiring, delightful things from the last week. It is a lovely time to collect inspiration and to share it with you.
1. I have been having a good time thinking and planning a lot about the developments in my little business. It has been my loving husband who has encouraged me to not just dream but to really put some plans into action. I am hoping to spend the next few months really planning some changes and growth in this wonderful little shop of mine.

2. Karli Ingersoll did an amazing inspiration encouraging No Shave November! Are you kidding me. This is lovely. I love that last guy giving it a try though he has little to show.

3. This collection of vintage teacher stamps is amazing!

4. A beautiful bedroom in a gorgeous home.

5. We did some light drawing with my Photo Club with 4-6th graders. It was an exciting time!

6. I am so happy I found this blog called the Art of Education! It has some amazing posts. I am looking forward to reading it further!

7. Moorea is too cute in her outfit posts!

8. We did some reorganizing of our home this weekend. It felt good. Here is a "Before" photo. You will have to wait and see the "After".

9. Dominik and I have a new niece as of a few days ago. Tabita... Welcome to the world lovely. I can't wait to see pictures of you and to meet you in real life!

10. I received my recently deceased Grandma Thelma's sweet rolls recipe. I am delighted to have it and now I want to make them in her memory. Thank you Miranda and Joel...

Picnic times with Love

The day I got back from hamburg was just wonderful. We had a picnic in the park by our house. We brought our coffee and tea in mugs to the park. And we sat and read and chatted. The sun was shinning and we had each other close by again! I missed my husband after being away from him for a week in Hamburg. It was the strangest not being near him for so long.

In the last photo I look like I have a babes in my belly. But no worries... One is not on the way I am just poochen out like I usually do...

I will be selling at my own stand at Beat Basar this time. It will be on Sunday December 12, in Heidelberg, Germany at the Halle 02.

The last two times I sold there I shared a booth with Action House, Julia the "NaehKoenigin" but this time I will be on my own. I will surely miss their company but I think it will be better for them. It got a bit confusing the last few times, because I was selling vintage and Julia was selling handmade and Action house is too cool to miss.

So, if you are in Heidelberg come put it in your calenders! There are amazing local creatives selling their work! It is a great place to buy Christmas gifts also!!!

What I have Learned this year...

Starting a little business this year has taught me a whole lot. Here are just a few things that I have learned this past year.

-It's important to delight in the little successes. And not to dwell on failures. They need to be there in order to learn. I delight in the little successes; each individual sale, well written blog posts, and having a great conversation with a customer at a creative market.

-Trying new things and taking risks is very worth while. Submitting to other blogs and collaborating with other designers has been incredibly rewarding this past year, not only for my business but for my heart also.

-I need help. Taking online courses, researching and asking for advice from people that are farther along in their business than me has been an great help this past year. (p.s. My husband is my biggest help! He is very supportive and incredibly wise, and encouraging.)

Here are some of my top! I tried to keep it to 10 Favorites...

These moccasins were my very first sale!

This guy was too cute.

Missionary type skirts are some of my favorites...

Sometimes, I regret having sold something. Actually quite often. But I am glad that they have found new owners that enjoy them!

I have sold some amazing cardigans and have some wonderful ones coming soon to the shop.

Again, I should have kept this skirt... haha.

Well, that was hard to narrow it down to just 10 but I succeeded.

I am super nostalgic about all of these items. Even though they were in my possession for such a short time. They are amazing pieces. I love being a vintage handler! Coming in contact with such unique items all the time is really fun.

1.We just bought plane tickets. My Love and I are going to be flying to Ohio for Christmas. My gramma just passed away last week, so I have been longing to be with family. We will have a family reunion in Ohio and hopefully be able to see some friends. I don't think we will make it to the West Coast, but I sure would love to. I am delighted to be visiting Ohio and seeing family again. image source

2. I loved Leigh Ann's first Outfit Post!!! Wonderful...

3. I saw this splendid chandelier idea and I knew I wanted to share it.

4. This is a cute necklace and a fancy collar!

5. I'm enjoying the charging of the leaves. Most have fallen but some are only beginning to yellow.

6. We had a fun photo shoot my husband and I last weekend. He was looking studly.

7. I have been reading Jack Kerouac's "On the Road," I am enjoying it thoroughly. image source

8. I discovered a lovely new blog this week. It is called Steffys Pros and Cons. She has some great vintage in her shop also.

9. I finally had some time and light on Saturday to take some photos for my shop! This was much needed! I usually get home from work after it is dark, so there are few opportunities to work on photos for the shop. So sad!

10. Time flies! It has been wonderful reflecting and celebrating one year of selling vintage in my little online shop!

One Year ago Today!!!

I cannot believe it, but I opened my vintage shop one year ago. My little shop was opened with the hope to bring wonderful vintage to the hands of vintage lovers! I have been collecting, photographing, measuring, selling and sending vintage for one whole year. It seems like just yesterday that I posted my first pair of vintage moccasins online. It has been a wonderful adventure!

Day 5 -Hamburg- Hatari

I went to the most wonderful "Jaeger" (hunter) house restaurant while I was in Hamburg. It had a lovely simple southern German menu, with a bustling, cozy atmosphere.

Eating alone on vacation was a bit of a strange time at the start. I ate out a whole lot and it was strange to always be saying "a table for one," and "No, I am not waiting for anyone else" etc... And even the eating part was a bit unsettling becasue of the lack of conversation. However with some time and confidence it became easier to enjoy meals on my own. By day 5 I was a pro.

I sat in Hatari for over 3 hours reading my book, eavesdropping, eating a wonderful "Flammkuchen", drinking white wine spritzers, and enjoying my own company. Being alone takes some time getting used to but it ends up being a lovely time indeed.

If you are ever in Hamburg be sure to visit Hatari! (the servers are very accepting and non-judgemental) haha.

1. Being back here in Heidelberg with my husband is most definitely the most wonderful of delights this week. He is studying hard for is last Exam of his Uni career so it is very exciting and I am exceptionally proud of him.

2. This skirt from Clever Nettle is pretty wonderful and fally....

3. Hilda's pretty collage work has been inspiring me to collage again...

4. Reading books at cafes all day in Hamburg was wonderful. I really spend most hours of each day reading with some sort of drink. In this case it was Cranberry Mango juice mixed. It was yummy.

5. I definitely did not delight in missing my husband this past week but I most definately delighted in knowing how important he is to me. I reflected on our companionship a lot this last week and it was a wonderful thing to feel so grateful for him.

6. Enjoying the beautiful city of hamburg....

7.Scott Schuman from the Sartorialist has a little series of "All the Pretty Photographers" on his blog. I love it...I am a pretty photographer too...haha.

8. Staying warm with a lovely cup of tea. This cup is a charmer....

Day 4-My first attempt at capturing Street Style

I have tried many a time taking photos of people's wonderful style on the street without them knowing it. But the other day was my first time asking someone if I could take a shot of them for my blog.

Here is the result...

This lovely lady drew me to her with her specktacles and interesting coat. I don't think I have ever seen a coat like that. Her layering was wonderful and though it didn't give her much of a shapely silhouette it made her look comfy and chic. I appreciated her look.

I will try and gain up the courage to ask a few more people in these coming months. It is tough to ask and especially to ask in German. Yikes. I get very self conscious!

Day 3-Hamburg- Herr Max

I went to the most delightful "Konditorei" (cake shop) in the world the other day.

Scrumptious pie engulfed my taste buds. It was a beautiful experience. It was raw shredded apple with cinnamon, and almonds in a divine crust and then topped with vanilla sauce. Oh my goosenest.

I am sad I forgot what the pie was called. It was superb!

If you ever are in Hamburg you must visit Herr Max!!!

Fashion Dictionary: Collars

I was inspired by ModCloth's Style Glossary and I created a little guide to Collars that are showing up in fashion these days.

This will not only help me as a vintage shop owner but you as a vintage shopper.

Middy (Sailor Collar)
The lovely Middy collar was worn most popularly in women’s children’s clothing in the early 20th century.

Shawl
This collar is a rounded V-neck collar most commonly seen in cardigan sweaters and tuxedo jackets.

Peter Pan
Peter Pan collars are small, flat, round-cornered collars. Rounded Peter Pan collars are generally but not always styled with bows and ties.

Barrymore
This charming collar is a turnover collar with long tapered points. It is named after actor John Barrymore. The style reappeared in the 1970’s, it was often featured on a dress shirt along with a wide tie.

I hope this helps in designing, shopping, and listing for all you fashion lovers. I need to learn a lot more about definitions of silhouettes, cuts, and shapes in fashion. So, this is one of my first steps in knowing fashion terminology.

1. Hamburg is a beautiful city and I am grateful to have some quality time in it. I am learning more and more about the city and myself.

2. What a beautiful living room!

3. This lady's style is amazing and crazy!

4. Wow this sneak peek into this home is so wonderful. There are so many natural elements in it!

5. What a grand Idea!!!!!

6. I love this couple's look! The cat skirt on the woman is pretty amazing!

7. I saw this charming DIY. A wool camera wrap.

8. These apple cinnamon chips look delicious.

9.My new shoes are just charming. I am really loving them. They were the most pricey shoes I have ever bought. Well, they tie with my Birkenstocks.
I was going to buy boots but I just couldn't find any that I loved. I kept on coming back to these and It is nice because I can wear them in winter and in summer which is the best!!!!

10. I took some photos in a photobooth this evening it was a good time. It was with an analogue camera and photo paper. I was just imagining the exposures going through the wonderful baths in the machine. (Oh I miss black and white photography!)

Day 2: Hamburg

So, I just wanted to share the highlight of my day yesterday.

I spent the most wonderful 4 hours in Matilde's a cafe in Hamburg. I drew, read, sipped delicious wintery hot chocolate, and watched a crime series with other guests there.

It was a wonderful comfy place to just be. There were books stacked everywhere and a fire place with real wood burning.

What do you think of this lady's fancy hat? There are a lot of seagulls and ships around here in hamburg so I thought this could be an appropriate hat to wear about town!

As I said we watched a crime show. It is on every sunday evening here in Germany it is called Tatort "The place of Death" (correct me if I am wrong German readers.). So I guess they show it every sunday evening here at Matilde. It was fun to be around with other people and to enjoy some mystery!

I fell in love with this lovely cafe and will surely be back another time this week!

I know it is Halloween. I am not in the spirit at all... haha Germans don't really do it..

Day 1: Hamburg

My first day in Hamburg was wonderful and low key. I was pooped from my over night bus here. I slept some, but sleeping sitting is always an uncomfortable experience.

I started the saturday morning off right by heading to a Floh Markt (fleamarket). It is called "Flohschanze".

Flohschanze was beautiful and I think I will try to go back next Saturday. I just love vintage shopping! There are so many treasures to see! like this amazing bag above! What? Wonderful huh?

Next I headed towards St.Pauli. I ended up on the famous Reeperbahn Strasse. But it was 11am so there were only people cleaning up on the streets. It was pleasantly vacant. Just a lot of sex shops. Which seems to be a big market here in Hamburg.

I left that street and headed more into St.Pauli neighborhood and stumbled upon a wonderful cafe called May.

I sat there an read for some time which was just splendid.

Then went on another walk trying to find the main street, where all the fancy shopping is. There is one of these in every city. I found it and photographed some lovely boots... This may be a photographic collection that has started.

My hotel is pretty fine. It has a stunning stair case. Check this baby out!

Old buildings have so much character.

As I have said in a few posts now I am all on my own on this trip. I have ventured off with out my best friend by my side. I miss him and wish that we could share all these experiences.

I love traveling and seeing new places but I am also longing for the familiar.

Beginning my adventure in Hamburg

Last Night I left Heidelberg for Hamburg and here I am in my hotel room enjoying and looking forward to the rest of my time here! My Love is at home studying his booty off for his final exams of his college career! And so I snuck away for my week off to one of the most northern big cities in Germany. I am loving it so far!

Above is my new home for the next week. It is cozy and small but it will definitely do. I have been missing my Husband/best friend so very much today...

I had a busy day and walked a whole lot. I am excited to share more about my time here starting tomorrow!

Breakfast and Flea-Market with my Love

Yesterday my husband and I had a wonderful morning having breakfast at a local bakery Mantei and then heading to Mannheim for a wicked FleaMarket! It was cold we spent our first 10 minutes outside scraping the frost off of Oma's car.

Yikes, I seem to forget about the seasons every time they change. I am somehow always surprised by them. It's as if they have never happened before.

Mantei has good breakfast! Once we were finished we drove the car to the wonderful world of a flea-market.

I day dream most days of a shop fronts and wonderful shop windows. I always have my eyes peeled for empty shopfronts around Heidelberg. Owning as shop is a dream, that I am praying and thinking hard about.

This weeks To-Do List

-Prepare draft listing and publish new listings for the shop!

-Cook at least two delicious meals for my husband. (even if one consists of boxed mashed potatoes)

-Go to the Flea Market in Mannheim (a neighboring town) I have heard from a reader that it is really good.

-Go on coffee dates with two friends I haven't seen in sometime.

-Be content with my apartment and the lack of a real (physical) shop to sell my things.

Shop Update: 4 New Tops

This weekend I had a wonderful shop photo shoot and here are four new tops in the shop! I want to keep all of them for myself but that is the trouble of being a vintage shop owner! I have to sell it! To see the indidual pieces click on the photos below.

Olive Delights:17.10.2011

1. I finally got to take some more shop photos this week. I am excited to be back in the groove of shooting and listing new beautiful items in the shop!

2. We had a wonderful Whiskey Hot Apple Cider and Hot Tottie evening on Saturday. It was wonderful to host a lot of people at our home and have a nice warm evening together. photo (recipe) via abeautifulmess.

3. My leather ankle boots are getting very worn down. I have my eyes peeled for some new ones! These are just gorgeous. But they are a size 10 US. 42 Europe. I wish I could fit them. Any size 10s out there? (Patricia, you're a size 10 aren't you. Can I buy you these for Christmas. They are so beautiful!)

4. I saw this beautiful Jane Austen quote mug at Kayla's blog. This is how I feel, especially when I know my husband is home!

5. There is an amazing DIY about transferring printed images to fabric! I knew this worked on canvas but not fabric! Thank you Elise.

6. I went to a flea market this weekend. It might be one of the last that is outside this year. It was brisk but bustling.

7. Beautiful dress from With Lavender and Lace. Did you know she is opening a boutique! It sound lovely.

8. Look at this amazing granny square crocheted ottoman cover, amazing idea. Crocheting in the winter time is so snuggly! I saw it at CreateLoves.

9. I saw this stunning before and after of a town house living room turned into paper goods shop! How inspiring!

10. I am very inspired by this crisp and crusty work space. I am in the need for a bit more space these days. High ceilings and more floor space to spread out and breath.

Fast from obsession....

So, I have had a recent obsession with looking for apartments and shops available for rent online. It is pretty bad. It is the first thing I do when I come home from work. I look for about an hour and what is available. I end up looking at the same flats and shops and trying to figure out how to move into them and whether I should contact the renter.

As you may have read in this post, I have a large debt and am trying to pay it off, and fast. We are living very cheaply and I have a good job with a steady income. It is not my dream job or a flat that feels like there is enough space, but it is something I can live with. They actually are things I should be very grateful for!

I keep on looking at these websites searching for an amazing flat at a wonderful price, and a shop with a lovely storefront that is in my budget, But even if I did see them, I wouldn't be able to move into them right now anyways. It would be even more painful to know if they were available right now, than not to know at all.

My husband and I have decided that we wouldn't move out of our flat at least until February, and I wouldn't be able to open a real shop until June because of my current teaching job. So, there is no real point in looking for vacant places right now.

So, I have decided to go on a fast from these websites for one week. Just to clear my mind of them a bit and to try and be thankful for what I have. I want to see whether looking at these storefronts and available apartments are making my discontent with my current circumstances worse.

I would appreciate your prayers and good thoughts. I hope to live a grateful life that is content and to really know my priorities. If I really want a shop I need to wait for it and save up for it, not just jump into it.

Artist Feature: Leah Reena Goren

This charming illustrator Leah caught me with her charming and humorous patterns and textiles. They consist of mushrooms, cats, fungus, bears, and many more strange and exquisite things.

Leah is on her way to finish a degree in illustration at Parsons in New York. Her work is stunning and quirky. It is amazing current work portraying lovely details and capturing current humans like her "Internet Girls."

Date Night: Live music

Last weekend my Love and I drove in the rain to a concert. We hadn't been to one for a long time. At least to one that was not one of our shows (he's a musician) so am I sometimes.

We saw two bands Jonathan Kluth and We Invented Paris. They both were entertaining and it was a pleasant evening enjoying live music and drinking "Weinschorle" (wine spritzer in English I think)

Well as I say always at the end of Date Night Posts. If you have a loved one or a good friend that you want to spend time with. Make it a regular thing. Schedule time together. Date Nights happen weekly in our tiny household and we intend to keep it that way.

1. Taking study breaks with my husband. He is studying for his exams. They are the last exams in his Bachelor degree! How exciting!

2. I love Nadinoo's fall collection. The bird prints are just lovely. The styling is great too! wonderful work Nadinoo!

3. Etsy's Germany blog has an amazing City guide section with ideas for what to visit in Hamburg! Perfect. I will be going there for a solo vacation in a few weeks. This has given me some amazing ideas of places to visit! I am thrilled.

4. I'm getting excited about Hamburg. Here is a lovely bakery called HerrMax. I look forward to seeing all the culture and beauty there. I surely will miss my Love here at home though.

5. Owls remind me of a good friend who is far far away. I need to get out more and make some good new ones!

6. Granny Cardigans are just looking so wonderful to me these days!
